SeaWorld is trying to expand its concrete tanks for orcas in San Diego, but they should invest their money in retiring the orcas from circus act performances and instead transfer the orcas to bigger sea pens. The California Coastal Commission is holding a hearing on the issue, and they can deny permission for the expansion.
A long-time leader of the captivity industry is seeking to obtain sea lions from California that can be rehabilitated and released, and instead wants to buy them for a life in captivity.
