Our dear friends at EcoJoia, who sell t-shirts, jewelry, hoodies and other items for our Save Japan Dolphins Campaign and the Dolphin Project of Earth Island Institute, continue to give to our campaign to save dolphins around the world.
How much do they give? A whopping $55,580 so far this year, with November and December sales yet to be counted. All told, since their inception in 2009, they have given $191,322, and they hope to break $200,000 by the end of 2011.
All for the dolphins!
Julia and Ry Hawley were early supporters of our Campaign, well before The Cove movie and other events that have shaped our efforts.
“My brother and I created EcoJoia as a fundraising and awareness generating tool for Earth Island's Save Japan Dolphins and Ric O'Barry's Dolphin Project campaigns,” Julia Hawley told me. “We offer the best possible earth-friendly t-shirts, hats, hoodies, and merchandise, with a focus on designing goods that are completely wearable and stylish, but will also spark conversations about the campaigns. We are so happy to be part of these wonderful causes in our own unique way and the positive customer feedback has been tremendous.”
EcoJoia is doing the same thing for several other groups working to protect the environment, not just our dolphin campaigns.
Many volunteers around the globe are helping raise awareness for the dolphins and funds to help support our Campaign. I am grateful for them all. But there is a special place in my heart for the work of Julia and Ry. They are both champions!
