Campaign Whale

Campaign Whale was first established in 1980, by former Greenpeace anti-whaling campaigner Andy Ottaway, to campaign for the protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises, and their habitats. Campaign Whale has attended annual meetings of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) since then, fighting for an end to commercial whaling and greater protection for all whales.

Campaign Whale is especially concerned at the mass slaughter of thousands of smaller whales and dolphins around the world that receive no protection at all. In particular, Campaign Whale is working to end the mass killing of Dall's porpoises in Japan, the largest whale hunt in the world, with around 17,000 animals cruelly slaughtered each year.

Campaign Whale is founder and coordinator of the Global Whale Alliance:
www.global-whale-alliance.org, an alliance of over 150 groups in over 30 countries, fighting the resumption of commercial whaling.
